Bolsa Chica Wetlands - Huntington Beach, California. The wetlands can be accessed by two main streets, Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. It is about 5 miles from the Huntington Beach Pier headed north on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). There is ample parking on the state beach side. There is a smaller parking area on PCH. From there there are two trails, one that follows along the main road PCH (don't count this one out I have some great shots along this path) and the other that goes across the foot bridge. Both paths will meet along the channel. From there you can hike to the back area. There you will find different species of hawks, Great Blue Herons and sometimes Egrets. You may see the cyotes as well. There is the lower section and the bluffs. Once at the bluffs you can go towards the back or go along the path that will take you to the other parking area along Warmer avenue. This area again is good for spotting Hawks, Great Blue Herons and Egrets. I did see a burrowing owl last year but only for a few days.

I will try and get a map up soon. The Bolsa Chica Wetlands is an easy hike as most is flat. There is a little bit of a hill (maybe 25 to 50 yards or so) to get to the bluff area.

Please do not feed the animals.
Please be careful in the summer or hot months there are rattle snakes.
Do not bring your dogs. Animals are not allowed at all. Many people bring there dogs and allow them to run off leash this is against the wetlands policy.
Do not litter.
No bicycles, skatebaords or motor vehicles.
Stay on the paths

Have a great time enjoying a very rare and fragile area.
