Saturday, June 28th, 2008We currently buy about 700 Billon dollars worth of foreign oil each year. That is money that leaves the United States of America to purchase energy that we need. According to some wind turbines can be installed for 60 Billon dollars and it would be done with private capital. The US currently subsides the oil companies. One estimate that I saw (The Economist) suggested that we subsides the oil companies by as much as 250 Billon dollars a year.
